The beautiful cabinet features a piano-like finish, and Yamaha's proprietary Harmonious Diaphragm™ produces an exceptionally coherent tonal balance. In addition, the speakers create an incredibly clear soundstage, which is characteristic of bookshelf speakers. The elegant appearance of Yamaha's NS-600A combines the sophistication of a piano with the speaker's design philosophy. The speakers feature the glossy finish typical of Yamaha grand pianos, which is used only in selected Yamaha products. The NS-600A speakers use a newly developed Harmonious Diaphragm™ cone, made from a blend of ZYLON® fiber, which has excellent sound speed and optimal element resonance, and spruce wood, which is used in the soundboards of Yamaha grand pianos and is essential for sound radiation. This ensures that the harmonies of the sound stand out and the music is richer and more beautiful.

PERFECT REPRODUCTION OF MUSIC

Yamaha's patented R.S. (Resonance Suppression) absorbers are installed behind the tweeter speaker elements to faithfully express even the finest nuances of instruments and voices. Two specially shaped tubes cancel out unwanted resonance generated behind the diaphragm, producing the original sound and preserving the smallest musical nuances.

FAITHFUL MUSICAL PRESENCE

Conventional speakers use a lot of sound-absorbing material to eliminate standing sound waves inside the cabinet, but this also removes much of the inherent vibrancy of the music. In the NS-600A speakers, we have used a patented Absorber tube to eliminate standing sound waves, while minimizing the amount of damping material, so that the original realism of the music is reproduced with full energy and dynamics.

SOUNDSTAGE

The position of the artist and instruments, and even the subtle nuances and atmosphere of the performance space, are reproduced with astonishing precision. The resulting sound field is so incredibly realistic that you feel as if you are watching the performance unfold right in front of you.

HIGHLY MUSICAL VIBRATION CONTROL

The basis for producing excellent sound, both in musical instruments and loudspeakers, is determining how sound is created in the cabinet and where vibrations need to be dampened. The cabinet structure of the NS-600A speakers utilizes the latest loudspeaker design technology, making full use of laser vibrometers and advanced FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis used in musical instrument research and development. The speaker cabinet is optimally reinforced, allowing for excellent sound localization that makes you feel as if you are right there in the performance, and produces excellent expressiveness that perfectly reproduces even the most subtle instrument and vocal nuances.
