Beautifully simple
Ruark Audio's product line rose to prominence with its R1 table radio. The latest update is the R1S version, which includes not only Bluetooth reception but also several modern enhancements. The R1S is undoubtedly the most desired and complete table radio available, proudly dubbed even the Aston Martin of table radios.
At first glance, the latest R1 looks remarkably similar to its predecessors, but upon closer inspection, its subtle details and features emerge beautifully. The updated RotoDial control system located on top of the enclosure and the revamped full-color TFT front display together offer an easy-to-use and intuitive user experience. The enclosure design aimed to retain the familiar smooth lines and distinctive design of previous versions. Additionally, the renewed soft-lacquer finish and the eco-wood front grille professionally convey that with the R1S, the bar has been raised even higher.
Previous R1 models received critical acclaim, but the R1S has raised the bar even further! In particular, the latest neodymium NS+ driver, also used in the R3 and R5 models, provides a smooth and wide frequency response. The special enclosure tuning of the R1S produces impressive bass reproduction. The system's Class A/B linear amplifier delivers exceptional dynamics, and with adaptive equalization, clearly audible sound is achieved at all volume levels.
BackPack II
With a battery status display and improved power management, the R1S performs even better and longer with the optional BackPack II, allowing you to enjoy the rich sound of the R1 even when mains power is not available.
The BackPack II seamlessly attaches to the R1 and can be left permanently in place as it automatically charges whenever mains power is available. A full charge allows up to 12 hours of listening, depending on the volume.
Compact remote control
A separate compact remote control is available for the R1S. The remote control has four quick-access buttons, allowing you to save and easily select your favorite radio stations.
