JL Audio f212v2

2 x 12" active subwoofer

You'd really like to have a genuine Gotham in your listening room, but your bank account is holding you back a bit? A Fathom f212v2, or a pair of them, can be an excellent solution in such a situation. The f212v2 is the most extreme Fathom model, with performance that never disappoints. Its ultra-long-throw 12-inch W7 drivers and powerful 3600 W amplifier bring a real sense of danger to bass reproduction.
Because the f212v2 is built with the same driver structure and amplification technology as our acclaimed flagship Gotham®, it delivers extremely convincing sound quality. Low distortion, excellent dynamic properties, and astonishingly deep extension allow you to experience all the excitement of the most demanding cinematic material, while the Fathom can also reproduce all the nuances and textures of your delicate music material.
A complete suite of signal processing features is easily accessible from the front panel of every Fathom. These include a highly flexible low-pass filter, phase control and polarity inversion, E.L.F. trim, and an extremely precise digital automatic room optimization system (D.A.R.O.). A high-quality calibrated microphone for the D.A.R.O. system is included. Input connections are made with RCA connectors or balanced Neutrik® combo XLR / TRS connectors. There is also an XLR output through which you can daisy-chain another Fathom subwoofer.

Advanced driver technology

Fathom bass drivers utilize JL Audio's proprietary DMA optimization, which ensures the driver's motor force provides extremely linear motion over a long excursion. Unlike traditional modeling methods, DMA considers dynamic variations in current supply with real music material. The advantage of this technology is that the driver keeps up with the action whether listening loudly or softly, unlike many traditional subwoofers whose reproduction only 'opens up' when turned up significantly.
The extreme mounting depth of the driver is intentional and allows for sufficient distance between the suspension, dual spiders, and cone, enabling a truly long excursion and minimal distortion values, as well as improved durability.
