The Dominion series is born from years of advanced technologies developed by JL Audio and extensive expertise as a subwoofer manufacturer. The result is an incredible amount of performance squeezed from a compact enclosure, without compromising on accuracy and musicality.
Accuracy and power
Specifically designed to produce powerful bass frequencies with authority and force, the Dominion's bass driver utilizes JL Audio's exclusive DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis) technology to deliver truly powerful bass response while keeping distortion levels very low. The driver's excursion is an impressive 68 mm for its size!
The benefit of DMA technology is that dynamic tracking and accuracy are in a league of their own, allowing even the smallest nuances of the bass guitar to be conveyed with clarity and precision, without being obscured by other music.
Advanced amplifier technology
Dominion series amplifiers utilize advanced Class-D design to get the most out of the driver. The implementation also includes a very precisely regulated power stage, allowing the amplifier to produce a huge amount of clean power to the driver.
The amplifier also includes a host of signal processing, making it exceptionally easy to integrate into any system, whether the main speakers are traditional boxed models or very fast-moving panels, the Dominion always keeps up. The low-pass is precisely controlled thanks to the 24dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover, so the subwoofer reproduces only the frequencies it is meant to, without creating overlaps at higher frequencies. The subwoofer also features precise phase and polarity adjustments, which further facilitate matching with the main speakers.
Adaptable multi-talent
The signal can be fed to the subwoofer either at line or speaker level, so it can be easily integrated into both stereo and multi-channel systems. Wireless connectivity is also possible, thanks to the separately sold JLINK™ TRX system, which allows the subwoofer to be connected to the system without a signal cable up to 30 meters away.
Because the subwoofer produces a huge amount of energy, exceptional attention was paid to the enclosure design to keep cabinet resonances minimal and not compromise the purity of the reproduction. The walls are made of thick CNC-machined MDF board, and robust cross-bracing is installed inside the enclosure to further improve the cabinet's 'deadness'.
