As the name suggests, the Helix DSP ULTRA S is more than just another processor with a couple more channels. The ULTRA S is a device that takes DSP devices to a whole new level and demonstrates Audiotec Fischer's expertise as a pioneer in DSP technology.
The redesigned audio signal path reduces distortion to a minimum: at its core are the renowned AKM Velvet Sound™ 32 Bit AD and DA signal converters and new, high-quality operational amplifiers from the legendary TI/BurrBrown ″OPA series″ with SoundPlus™ technology, which guarantees the best possible sound quality.
The only way to improve processing power is to add more processing power. The ULTRA S are two of the most powerful 64-bit audio signal processors in the Analog Devices portfolio. With an incredible 2.4 billion MAC operations per second, they enable twelve individual channels of processing and a 96 kHz sampling rate.
The new 32-bit ACO platform enables fast operation in everything, but it also does much more. The most important feature is the analysis of the signal from OEM audio sources and automatic response straightening. This compensates for the input signal distortion that is often done in OEM devices to compensate for poor quality original speakers.
The ULTRA S seamlessly integrates with any OEM audio source thanks to the ADEP.3 circuitry and incredibly wide input sensitivity. The 4-32 Volt input sensitivity on the speaker level input allows installation behind OEM amplifiers in cars where removal from the player is impossible
