Genelec G Three
Active 2-way loudspeaker. A redesigned B-version of a popular speaker with more powerful Class D amplifiers.
The G Three is a very compact and powerful speaker, ideally suited for listening to music or for a home theater environment. Its MDE™ (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™) cabinet features rounded corners and softly curved front and side panels, which minimizes diffraction from the cabinet edges. The result is a very smooth frequency response and a precise stereo image.
Like all Genelec G-series speakers, the G Three was designed in collaboration with designer Harri Koskinen and features an advanced Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™), a flow-optimized reflex port structure, and an acoustically rigid aluminum cabinet. The robustness of the cabinet structure is completed by a wear-resistant paint finish and acoustically transparent, yet strong, protective grilles for the speaker drivers. Very low-distortion speaker drivers, appropriately sized 40-watt amplifiers, and carefully designed active crossovers complete the package. Overload protection circuitry and versatile acoustic controls are standard features of the G Three. The G Three is easy to position in various locations. Its rear panel has, for example, threaded inserts for a wall or ceiling bracket.
Each Genelec G Three comes standard with an Iso-Pod™ (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler™) table stand. The Iso-Pod™ is an ingenious positioning stand that easily allows the speaker to be placed in either a vertical or horizontal position. It also allows the speaker to be easily aimed towards the listener while simultaneously acoustically and mechanically decoupling the speaker from the surface on which it is placed. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) feature ensures that power consumption remains as low as possible when the speaker is not in use. When it automatically enters Standby mode, the speaker's power consumption is less than 0.5W.
If very high sound pressure levels and truly deep bass response are required, the system can be expanded with an F Two subwoofer in stereo applications or, for example, a 7060A subwoofer in multichannel applications.
