ESB Audio 9.3M 3"/75 mm Cone Midrange (pair)
Key features
The magnetic pole piece, designed with magnetic flux analysis software, helps to achieve perfect and homogeneous magnetic gap saturation for improved voice coil movement and reduced distortion, as well as increased dynamics.
Large neodymium magnet. This high-temperature resistant neodymium magnet is one of the most powerful magnetic motor systems for an automotive speaker of this size. It is made from high-quality neodymium and allows for a significant reduction in the size and mass of the magnetic motor.
TCA controls the airflow moved by the cone and creates an aperiodic damping resistance, determining that the release of energy accumulated in the speaker's movement occurs in a controlled and rapid manner without permanent oscillations. This contributes to a more precise and faithful response to the sound source, as well as accuracy and overall sound quality.
Pole plate CNC machined from a single piece of very low carbon steel.
Gold-plated solder terminal helps save space and prevents loss of amplifier power.
The die-cast aluminum and powder-coated basket offers very low resistance to air passage, and its shape (verified by FEM analysis) reduces vibration and resonance.
The wide, light Nomex voice coil with an aluminum winding contributes significantly to wide bandwidth extension.
A large balanced Conex™ spider damper ensures linear movement in both directions, thereby reducing distortion.
Collar for the connection of the voice coil and cone. This distributes pressure to the cone over a large area, reducing deformation and distortion.
The cone is made of high-modulus carbon, vacuum and autoclave molded, a technology rarely used in loudspeakers due to its cost, but which brings enormous advantages in terms of reproduction naturalness and high dynamics in transients. This is manufactured in a single piece, eliminating the dust cap. In a component of this small size, this solution offers incredible benefits in the homogeneity of dispersions and the regularity of the frequency response at high frequencies.
The NBL rubber surround has a shape designed to ensure very smooth movement with very small excursions, becoming increasingly controlled as the excursion increases and approaches the limit. This also helps to make this speaker very dynamic and capable of handling high power.
CNC machined aluminum grille (optional).
