The Beast is back. And better than ever.

In the early 2000s, DD's 9900 series was dubbed The Beast. After a long hiatus, The Beast has returned and is better than ever. The latest version is designed to meet the demands of the ultra-low frequencies found in modern music.

The drivers in this series can be operated for long periods at very high power and with long excursions. The driver is optimized for playing at 1500-2500 watts and can briefly withstand powers of up to 10,000 watts.

A look at the driver's motor reveals where the name "The Beast" comes from. The magnet is over three inches high and ten inches wide. The precisely machined magnet structure contains a 4" voice coil. The mechanical excursion is over three inches, and even at its extremes, the voice coil remains sufficiently within the magnet to maintain control of the driver.
