Wireless Apple CarPlay
The iLX-705D-VW Premium works wirelessly with your iPhone, allowing you to receive and make calls, dictate messages with Siri, and use apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, WhatsApp, or Spotify streaming while your phone is in your pocket.
You can easily activate Siri by pressing the head unit's voice control button once.

Android Auto
Android Auto allows you to use many of your phone's applications directly from the iLX-705D-VW Premium screen. Simply connect your phone to the head unit with a USB cable, and all Android Auto apps will be immediately available. You can use your favorite navigation apps, such as Google Maps or Waze, and play music through Spotify, YouTube Music, or Tidal.

Heating and Air Conditioning Information
The "Premium" version displays clear and detailed information on the head unit's screen whenever you adjust the air conditioning or seat heaters. The screen automatically turns on for a few seconds whenever adjustments are made. This works in all models where the original head unit also displayed air conditioning information.
Camera Control
If your car has Volkswagen's original reversing camera* or parking sensors, these will work seamlessly with the Alpine. You can also view both the sensor and camera views on the screen simultaneously if desired.
If your car does not have a factory-installed reversing camera, the Alpine HCE-C1100D and HCE-C2100RD are Plug & Play cameras for the iLX-705D-VW Premium head unit. You can also connect an HCE-C2600FD front camera to the head unit.

Entertainment on a Large Screen
In addition to the traditional RDS tuner, you also have a digital DAB radio, as well as the ability to play video files (MP4, MOV, FLV, MKV) via the USB connection. Through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, you can access numerous entertainment and utility apps.
Original Steering Wheel Buttons
If your car is equipped with steering wheel buttons, these will also work seamlessly with the Alpine head unit. You can perform basic functions without taking your hands off the steering wheel, such as muting the head unit, changing the program source or radio channel, adjusting the volume, etc.
If you use an iPhone, you can also activate Siri with a single button press.
MFD Display
The "Premium" version also supports the car's MFD (Multi Function Display) in the instrument cluster. You can see the radio station name and song information, just like with the original head unit.
Original Microphone Usage
If your car has a factory-installed hands-free microphone, this will fit directly into the iLX-705D-VW Premium head unit. This simplifies and speeds up installation.
Note: In some Golf models, for example, the wiring for the original microphone needs to be modified from under the passenger seat. More detailed information on this is included in the accompanying (English) installation instructions.
Two USB Inputs
The Alpine iLX-705D-VW Premium does not include a CD/DVD mechanism, but thanks to its two USB connections, you can, for example, charge your phone via one connector and have a USB stick or hard drive in the other connector from which you can play music and video files.
World's First Car Head Unit with Class-D Amplifier
The Alpine iLX-705D/-F905D/-F115D are the world's first aftermarket car head units with a built-in 4 x 50W Class-D amplifier. The advantage of Class-D is its incredibly high efficiency (approx. 90%) compared to the efficiency of Class-AB amplifiers (approx. 50-70%). New and almost silent high-speed fans keep the head unit cool.
Sound Quality Pioneer
Alpine's sound quality has become a global concept against which other head unit brands are always compared.
The 56-band parametric equalizer, two-way crossovers, six-channel digital time correction, and separate Bass Engine SQ and MediaXpander allow you to adjust the sound exactly as you want it.
And that's not all, as the iLX-705D-VW Premium is Hi-Res Audio certified and can play lossless 96kHz / 1.536 kbps files from USB in FLAC, WAV, and APE formats.
TIDAL App
The Alpine ILX-705D / ILX-F905D / ILX-F115D are the world's first aftermarket car head units that allow completely uncompressed music streaming from TIDAL. With Alpine, a WiFi connection is created, for example, to the phone's hotspot, after which Alpine is directly connected to TIDAL's servers. Music is not compressed or packed at any stage, and you get the best possible sound quality!
When the phone's hotspot and TIDAL are active, Apple CarPlay exceptionally requires the phone to be connected to the head unit via a USB cable.
The TIDAL app requires the head unit software to be updated to version 2.0.000
7″ WXGA Display
The Alpine iLX-705D-VW Premium has a 1280 x 720p (WXGA) resolution, meaning the display has over 2.7 million pixels. This ensures that all icons, menu options, and, for example, navigation map data appear very sharp and clear. The iLX-705D-VW Premium includes Alpine's best 7″ display ever.

The ILX-705D-VW Premium includes accessories that allow the head unit to be installed in compatible cars.
